"LAST
CALL" for Snail Mail! & The Emerging World Of
Flash Marketing
Happy Holidays,
The recent news of the U.S. federal government appointing
a
commission to examine the United States Postal Service is
not only
in direct reflection of the USPS' debt and cost over-run,
but also
the inevitable growth of the internet and email.
Email has
become more cost effective, dependable, and with a significantly
higher return on investment (ROI).
Internet industry insiders predict email campaigns to triple
in
2003. The reasons are simple. Direct Mail Pieces (DMP)have
a low
return rate for success (2% avg.), print media advertising
(PMA) has
an unknown impression rate (UIR), but email is highly trackable
and
cost effictive.
Email campaigns can traget specific people more so than
DMP. The
cost to send an email is far less than any 1st or 3rd class
mail
service, and the ability to know and track the receiver's
actions
exist---not always the case with DMP. PMA has exploded in
prices in
some markets and cannot deliver on visibility issues---"how
many
actually saw my advertisiment?" is what many advertisers
ask.
Again, email campaigns track results! If you send out 1000
emails,
you can track who clicked on them and where they went in
your site.
Thus notifying you as to who is valuable on that list and
who needs
to be targeted more. For more info on email campaigns please

A FLASH MARKET WORLD
Whether it is a cartoon-like flash animation displaying
a product or
service, or an interactive wizard style form, interactivity
is
becomming more and more an intregral component to any successful
site; or for that matter Flash used for interactive purposes.
The
ability to work with an existing web site and eliminate the
need to
redevelop a web site for a new product or service, is where
Flash
comes in handy. In many instances, Flash captures the visitor,
brings them in through the front door of the site and leads
them
right where you want them to go.
Product displays and demonstrations, as well as unique service
descriptions, are perfectly fit for a Flash marketing piece.
Flash
can best be used to distinquish a particular service or product,
rather than detail an already existing web site. That is
to say,
using Flash where and when it's necessary is more beneficial
than
overloading a site or Flash presentation with an abundance
of
content and message.
