ARTICLE FROM AUGUST eNEWSLETTER

Hello Y'all,
It's been a while since the last eNewsletter, since May to be exact.
Nonetheless, I'm back with a new schedule and more detailed
information to help you with your online business needs. First up, I've
decided to alter the frequency of this newsletter to bi-quarterly in order to
further concentrate on important Web matters that require a fair amount
of detailed attention. I plan to cover a couple of online marketing
solutions that should assist you with your ecommerce experience.

+----------+

DRIVING BIZ WITH eNEWSLETTERS Part One:

Despite an out cry over SPAM and unsolicited email, people are
subscribing to eNewsletters daily. This simple request by visitors can be
a pivotal advantage given to your website and business. By leveraging a
particular interest you are able to market your products, news, and
brand with minimal expenses. In addition, growing your enewsletter can
become key to your online success. There are several tricks for this.

Now depending on your market, mainly services compared to products,
you have to determine the frequency of your newsletter. Obviously, the
more regular product newsletters that get distributed the better chance
you have of a sale. On average, if you sell goods, the ideal mailing
schedule is at least once a week with special product announcements or
sale emails. However, it may be in your best bet to have your special
announcements on a separate opt-in eNewsletter list, this way it is not so apt
to upset your customers that would prefer regular once a week emails.

Growing your subscription base can be done in a couple of ways. Obviously, including a small line of text to have your reader pass it along to a friend is a must somewhere at the bottom of each newsletter ("Hope you enjoyed this issue, please pass it along to a friend..."). However, your first concern in getting subscribers is the visibility of how to join your newsletter list from your website. It is a MUST, MUST, MUST, on your home page. The key to developing a successful newsletter is making it easy for people to join. Be sure to bring plenty of attention to it.

A company I work with has built the subscription button right into every page on
their site. As a result, they now have just under 50,000 weekly subscribers and over 150,000 special contest announcement subscribers. All double opt-in email addresses!

50,000 subscribers do not formulate themselves, or merely because they have a
strategically placed link. Great content is a must! If you don't have great content the
only alternative is great content! People subscribe to newsletters for news to
read and they will quickly unsubscribe should they not receive what they want.

Specials and announcements on products and services are "includes," and granted selling them is usually your main interest in writing the newsletter, but most readers want the content and readers will reward great content with a purchase. Start thinking of ways to implement a strong eNewsletter or refreshing the one you have.

Set simple goals for it, like getting an average of at least one new subscriber
per day and generating an adequate mailing schedule. Above all, provide your readers with great content---they already know that you're probably out to make a buck.

In the next part of this article I'll explain a little more on how to target
your readers, deciding whether HTML or plain text is the way to go, the important factor of getting the reader to buy, and how to entice advertisers (such as product manufacturers) to want to place ads in your newsletters and how they will help your list grow.

PROFITABLE ONLINE ADS

You see ads on TV. You hear them on the radio. You read them in the newspaper. All
three of these mediums are expensive. Online advertising is incredibly cheap compared to other avenues, and usually return a higher return on investment. There are several ways to fully take advantage of online ad tracking and placement in order to increase the efficiency of your online ad campaigns.

I AM Presentations offers skilled tracking and report/analysis services for online ads and how they benefit or hurt your business. Look for more information in the coming weeks on our website http://www.iampresentations.com. We are offering a monthly rate with very up-to-date reports and suggestions to improve the quality of your site.

Well, another one to post up online. One of the nice advantages with eNewsletters is the archive-ability --- check out and catch up on the newsletters you missed, starting way back in the Summer of 2002 at http://www.iampresentations.com/html/news/
news_archive.htm.

Please pass along and write in your comments or suggestions of web trendy things
you'd like to have discussed.

Until Next Time,
Michael LaRocque

Hope you enjoyed this issue, please pass it along to a friend ;-)
